Pieco began life as Pneumatic Industrial Equipment Company in 1954, when products were sold by salesmen who called on clients with a briefcase of literature and samples. How the world works has changed so fundamentally and the sales function has become almost entirely automated-to the point where it is possible to have a 10 year supplier/client relationship without ever meeting face-to-face. The web allows for quick sourcing, just-in-time ordering, online information sharing and online payments, but in some ways it is also not ideal. For example, relationship building, learning about our clients so that we can anticipate what our clients are moving toward and away from in their products and business.these business contributors are still very important to the way Pieco thinks about doing business and the way we operate today.
