FEP is heat sealable, and the cuffs (straight ends) are made to accept standard barbed fittings. The end may be flared or expanded to permit shrink-tight connections.

Selecting the tubing that best suits a particular application should be done after all the requirements are considered.

- Flow - the amount of material that must be transported
- Working Pressure - is the burst pressure at room temperature plus a safety factor
- Working Temperature - temperature range tubing can effectively be used
